Part:BBa_K2958005
Linker for Single Chain Proinsulin and Long Lasting Insulin Analogs
Linker with amino acid sequence GGYLGGGGGGGR used to create single chain insulin and long lasting single chain insulin.
Description:
This linker was used in place of the C chain of Proinsulin to form single-chain insulin. Specifically, Single Chain Insulin and Long Lasting Insulin Analogs (BBa_K2958006 and BBa_K2958007, respectively).. The protein sequence for this linker is GGYLGGGGGGGR. When combined with the A & B chains of proinsulin, the PI of the insulin protein is 5.50 for Single Chain Proinsulin, and 6.46 for Long Lasting insulin, as determined by Serial Cloner. This linker is one of many non-patented linkers listed in the journal article, "Single-Chain Insulins as Receptor Agonists" by Rajpal et al (2009).
